You don’t have unlimited time
If you would like to take every opportunity out there that is presented in front of you, you are out of luck. You are not able to do that because of a simple reason. Time.
Time is present in all of our lives, and you only have 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week and 52 weeks in a year. There will be a lot of opportunities that you could take in a single year. If your problem is that you are being shown too many opportunities and you want to start all of them, then you are in a better position than 90% of the population that refuses to see imperfections and problems.
You have to make sure that the opportunities you take are the right kind for you. If you are unable to do everything, focus on doing something very well.
There is 3 type of people in the world:
- Those that are solving problems
- Those that have already solved a problem and now reaping financial and spiritual benefits
- Those that complain about the problems for 2 other types to solve them.
What type of person are you?
Well, you can most likely realise which group you are in right now.
Started solving
If you are solving a problem already(beginner entrepreneur), don’t try to pivot at the first thing that comes up. Check whenever your logic in starting to work on this problem is still relevant. Check if that logic makes sense in your head. It still does? Then it would be best if you carried on doing what you are already doing. Write down the reason why you should carry on working for future reference.
If on the other hand, you think that the world has suddenly changed and the problem is not relevant. Look for evidence and look for a paying customer. If you can’t find it, then you can seek the next best opportunity.
Make sure to never have more than 3 projects at the time in your direct control, if you do, you will spread yourself too thin and will actually do a mediocre job at all of the projects.
Finished solving
If you have solved a problem already, you already know the formula, go on and do it again on other projects or retire early and enjoy yourself. Go surfing every day, and be happy. You will be a person everyone strives to be.
Live the life most of us are only dreaming of achieving.
Consuming
If on the other hand, you are neither solving nor already solved a problem, then you are a complainer right now.
Different people call this group differently. I usually call them consumers because they don’t actually produce anything but only consume. In reality, those are the people that constantly complain about everything.
The logic here is very elementary. If you have a problem worth complaining about, you should try solving it and find people that also have the same problem and sell them the solution. You are most likely not the most unique individual in this world. There are a bunch of people using the same product the same way you use it, so don’t be afraid of basing a product on yourself.
I will have to say this here, but the biggest reason companies fail, is because they are unable to find a market where their audience is. If you have a problem with an already existing solution, make a better solution. Your idea is already validated by other companies that are working in that market.
As with anything, you have to start somewhere. If you never start, then you will never finish.
Start now. Get perfect later
